Load Cell Data Logger for Reliable Force Monitoring
Collecting force data in the field often means dealing with a mix of sensor types, unpredictable environments, and the need for long-term recording without constant oversight. Kingmach load cell data loggers are built around that reality. Rather than a one-size-fits-all approach, these devices are designed to work with the load cells already on your site—strain gauge, vibrating wire, or hydraulic—and keep data flowing reliably through temperature shifts and rough handling. The onboard signal conditioning and configurable excitation let you match the logger to the sensor, not the other way around. From foundation testing to tunnel lining monitoring, the focus is on getting clean, time-stamped readings that engineers can trust. And when a project demands a custom channel count or communication setup, Kingmach's manufacturing flexibility means the logger can be adapted without starting from scratch.
Technical Detail
A load cell data logger from Kingmach handles the signal processing, storage, and transmission so you don't have to cobble together separate modules. Each unit brings together multi-channel inputs, 24-bit A/D conversion, and programmable gain—details that matter when you're tracking small strain changes over weeks. The front end accepts a wide input range, making it compatible with standard full-bridge and half-bridge load cells, as well as 4-20mA transmitters when configured with the right input card. Data is stored locally on removable SD cards, with options for automatic upload via cellular modem or RS-485 bus if the site allows. Power management is another area where the design earns its keep: a smart sleep-wake cycle keeps the logger running on a small battery for months, waking to sample, log, and go back to sleep. This matters in remote landslide or pile load test setups where mains power isn't available. Kingmach builds these loggers into weatherproof enclosures rated for IP65 or higher, with internal desiccant and surge protection on each channel. For system integrators, the logger speaks Modbus RTU and can push data over MQTT, fitting into larger SCADA architectures without custom middleware. Support from Kingmach includes initial configuration advice and remote diagnostics, because getting data out of the field shouldn't be harder than installing the sensor.

Most Kingmach loggers handle strain gauge full-bridge sensors directly, and with a simple input module, they also accept 4-20mA transmitters or vibrating wire cells. If you're unsure, share your sensor's datasheet and our application team will confirm the excitation and signal range match.
You can set different intervals per channel—anywhere from once per second to once every few hours. Faster rates up to a few hundred Hz are possible for dynamic tests, but for static monitoring, we usually configure one reading every 5 or 10 minutes to conserve storage and battery.
Remote access is definitely doable. We have built-in options for 4G cellular, Wi-Fi, or LoRa. The logger pushes data to an FTP server or cloud platform, so you can view it from the office. For sites with no signal, data stays on the SD card until you collect it.
Each channel has gas discharge tube protection and a TVS diode clamp. The enclosure is IP65 or IP67 sealed. If a surge does get through, the damage is usually limited to that single channel's front end, which is designed as a replaceable module to keep downtime short.
The logger itself stores raw millivolt or engineering units, but we provide software that applies your calibration factors and conversion formulas during download. Some models can also run basic calculations on the edge—like peak hold or alarm threshold comparisons—if you need an immediate alert.
