The gauge body is stainless steel, and the end blocks can be flanged for arc welding or fitted with spot-weldable tabs, depending on the installation method. A built-in thermistor allows temperature correction, which matters when you’re measuring thermal strain in bridge girders. We ship each gauge with an individual calibration sheet showing gauge factor and temperature coefficient, no extra charge. It depends on whether you can safely weld on site. Arc welding is for heavy steel sections where you can grind and re-coat. Spot welding is faster and works for thin plates or where fire risk is lower. We can swap end blocks on request—just tell us the steel thickness and access conditions.
Standard range is ±3000 microstrain. Accuracy is better than ±0.5% full scale after temperature correction, which is typical for this sensor type. We supply a calibration sheet with every gauge.
Yes, our vibrating wire strain gauges output a standard frequency signal. Any logger that can excite and read vibrating wire sensors (with 400-6000 Hz range) will work. We can give you the interface specs and connector pinout.
The frequency signal is unaffected by cable resistance, so lengths up to 1000 meters are fine, provided the cable is shielded twisted pair and properly grounded. We offer armored cable for direct burial.
